<p>The lure of choice is a heuristic that suggests people prefer options that allow them to make further choices over those that do not, even when the extra choices cannot improve the ultimate outcome. In a Registered Report, we conducted a replication and extensions of Studies 1, 2, and 3 from Bown et al. (2003), with a British Prolific sample (N = 1000).
