I lead the NC3Rs work on improving the reliability and transparency of preclinical and basic research. This includes providing training for researchers and stakeholders at all stages of the research process, such as funding or ethical review panels. This also includes developing practical resources to help researchers design rigorous experiments and reporting standards (the ARRIVE guidelines for animals research, the RIVER recommendations for in vitro studies). I also have expertise in animal welfare and the 3Rs.
